There's more brewing and winemaking ingredients, kits, equipment, and whatnot being added to our shopping cart all the time. Still, only a fraction of the items we carry are listed online. If you don't see what you're looking for, please call or e-mail your requests and we will gladly quote you a price. Please note some items are not shipping friendly, but you would be amazed at the homebrew stuff we ship.

Our Spring Newsletter is now online, complete with coupons (print out and use at the store) with LOTS of big news for winemakers, as well as brewing news and events. Also see previous newsletters. Don't miss out on the news: sign up for our newsletter today.

Hop Policy
It pains us to refuse to sell customers as much hops as they want. But with the impending hop shortages (see Washington Post article) we need to do something to keep as many of our customers happy as possible.

In order to ensure that we will be able to provide hops to our brewing customers now and throughout the coming year, we will be limiting the sale of hops to each customer based on the amount of grains and/or malt extract that is purchased at the same time. The following amounts represent the maximum hops that can be purchased until further notice:

  • 1 oz of hops per pound of malt extract (syrup or dry)
  • 1 oz of hops for every 2 pounds of grains

These amounts will be reviewed on a regular basis to determine whether our policy needs to be amended or is no longer needed. Thank you for your understanding as we try to do what best for all of our homebrewing customers!

New Hop Limited Offer
Argentine Cascade
Even with the hop shortage in full effect, we’ve been able to obtain a supply of a brand new hop (for us) this year called Argentine Cascade. Don’t be fooled! This hop bears little if any resemblance to American Cascade. It actually exhibits characteristics of certain German noble hops (namely Tettnang and Spalt), and works very well as an aroma hop. With the practical disappearance of Tettnang this year, this is a welcome addition indeed! Argentine Cascade weighs in at 3.2% alpha acid, and sells for $4.09 per ounce. It is in stock now, and orders can be placed online or by phone. Order this special, hard-to-find hop on-line.

Hop Rhizomes Are Gone But Not Forgotten
We sold out, but here are the links to growing tips, etc. Each variety has slightly different growing preferences.

Directions and information from the rhizome distributer: pdf online.
