Details
Bred in England and released in 1934, this variety was transported to German hopyards by way of Belgium and became the dominant high alpha hop in Germany during the 1970s. It is now being outclassed by newer higher alpha varieties. It is strong, robust, sometimes coarse, but provides good bitter character when used early in the boil. Widely used as main bittering hop in pellet and extract form.
