Saaz is the classic noble aroma hop from the traditional Bohemian growing regions of the Czech Republic. Named after the town of Zatec. Characterized by a very fine, mild aroma with slightly spicy accents. Historically used in Pilsener beers and for late kettle additions. Rarely used as an extract. Also grown in smaller quantities in the Slovak Republic, as well as in Poland, the Ukraine,and Northern Idaho.
