MALT MADNESS ENTRY DEADLINE TOMORROW THURSDAY AUGUST 13TH!

Do you like friendly competition with your fellow homebrewers? Receiving constructive feedback on your beers? Winning prestigious awards and great prizes? If so, then prepare your entries for the 3rd Annual Malt Madness Competition! Both Keystone Homebrew locations will be accepting entries from Saturday, August 1 through Thursday, August 13. Don’t forget . the Malt Madness is also the final leg of the 2009 Keystone Cup homebrew club competition. The Lehigh Valley Homebrewers took home the prestigious Cup last year, but the Keystone Hops established an imposing 18-point lead following the War of the Worts in February. Be sure to indicate your club affiliation on your entry forms.

The Lehigh Valley Homebrewers are looking for all available BJCP-certified beer judges to help out with this year’s Malt Madness. The competition will take place at the Allentown Brew Works in Allentown, PA. BREW NIGHT AT THE MERCER MUSEUM
Friday, August 14, 6:30 PM Join us at the Mercer Museum for the 4th Annual Brew Night program, bringing beer enthusiasts and history buffs together for a fun and educational evening. Philadelphia-area brewing historian Rich Wagner will discuss various brewing techniques across Philadelphia between the 17th and 19th centuries, the types of brews that were produced and the well-known brewers and drinkers of the time. A tutored beer tasting with Keystone Homebrew Supply and Yards Brewing Company (“Ales of the Revolution”) follows the presentation. Light refreshments are included. Cost: $27 ($23 BCHS members). The International Beer Expo on 8/15, www.greatbeerexpo.com This event appears to be undersold so it should be fun not having any lines to get beer.
August 22nd from 4-8, Beer Fest at McFaddens at the BallPark featuring the BEERamid Challenge. Good beer and sports, at a festival!
