RJ SPAGNOLS ORDER DEADLINE: SOUTH AFRICAN CABERNET FRANC/MERLOT
The final Restricted Quantity wine kit of the season promises to be one of the best. This wine is rich in every way–deeply colored, aromatic and very flavorful. The nose has green and black pepper and a hint of spice. It is full bodied with a fruit component-cassis, followed by a layer of darker flavors-cigar box and leather. There are hearty, chewy tannins from the GenuWine Winery Cabernet/Merlot grape skins. A $50 deposit is required at the time of your order. Call or order online no later than Saturday, February 27 to be sure we get your kit and to qualify for volume discounts: http://www.keystonehomebrew.com/Zilron/catalog77_0.html

LEHIGH VALLEY HOMEBREWERS MEETING
Join the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 23 at 7:30 PM at the Steelgaarden (across from our Bethlehem store). Everyone is welcome to attend, just bring some homebrew!

WAR OF THE WORTS XV RESULTS, PRIZES
With 816 entries, this monster of a homebrew contest was the largest one on the East Coast in the last 15 years. Mike Lessa won Best of Show for his Berliner Weisse, and Dave Grosch took both second and third place with a Munich Helles and a Traditional Bock, respectively. Congratulations to Mike, Dave and all the winners! You can see the results online: http://www.keystonehops.org/sponsors15.htm

You can pick up your score sheets (and winners can pick up their ribbons and prizes) at our Montgomeryville store starting tomorrow (Tuesday, February 22). If you’d prefer to pick up during the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers meeting in Bethlehem tomorrow (see below), let us know via email by noon tomorrow and we’ll do our best to get them all up there for the meeting. Any score sheets and prizes not picked up by this Friday, February 26, will be sent via U.S. Mail.

Special thanks to Andy Hejl, Dave Grosch, Tim Caum and Vince Galet for their herculean efforts in organizing this year’s contest.

MCKENZIE BREW HOUSE BELGIAN HOMEBREW COMPETITION
The McKenzie Brew House is hosting a different kind of homebrew competition for those of you with tasty Belgian beers lying around. All entries must be considered “Belgian” beers, but all other style guidelines will be decidedly ignored, and each beer will be judged on its merits relative to all other entries. The Grand Prize of the event will be to brew the winning recipe with the McKenzie brewers at their Chadds Ford location. Entries must be submitted by Monday, March 1 to the McKenzie Brew House in Chadds Ford, located at 451 Wilmington West Chester Pike/Rt. 202, Chadds Ford, PA. The Brew House will have entry forms on hand, or you can contact us and we can send you a pdf file via email.

Ferment on!
