Greetings from Keystone Homebrew,

In this email:
Fall Grapes Update: Montgomeryville Only
Myerov Farm Salon Concert: Sunday, July 12

FALL GRAPES: NEW SOURCES
This spring, I once again sought out new grape opportunities to offer to thirsty Keystone winemakers looking for the best available. This time I ventured into Lake County, CA (just north of Napa County), where I met with Jim Smith from Nova Grape Brokers. Utilizing Jim’s extensive connections throughout the region, we came up with a list of many exciting new grapes from Sonoma and Lake Counties that we could POTENTIALLY offer this fall. We’re counting on you to tell us which grapes you’re most interested in, and in what quantities, so that we can bring in the varietals that are generating the most interest. Some will be available in small lots only, so if you’re sure of your choices, we encourage you to reserve them now with a deposit ($10 per box, $500 per half-ton bin). You do not need to provide a deposit if you just want to express interest at this time.

SONOMA COUNTY* ($55 per 36-lb lug; $1.32/lb for half-ton bins)
Aglianico
Barbera
Cabernet Franc
Carmenere
Montepulciano
Pinot Noir
Sangiovese

LAKE COUNTY* (lugs are 36 lbs; prices/lb are for half-ton bins)
Cabernet Franc $44/lug $1.05/lb
Cabernet Sauvignon $49.50/lug $1.14/lb
Merlot $44/lug $1.05/lb
Syrah $44/lug $1.05/lb
Zinfandel . ORGANIC $50.50/lug $1.17/lb

*Prices are subject to change, and availability is dependent on the level of interest expressed. Call or email us now!

FALL GRAPES & JUICE: RETURNING FAVORITES
Of course we’ll also be bringing back some of your favorite fresh grapes and juice from recent years. You can find more information about all of these in our Fall 2008 Newletter: http://www.keystonehomebrew.com/fall08newsweb.pdf

WASHINGTON STATE GRAPES
We had an overwhelming response to these premium grapes last year, so of course we’re getting them again! These varietals from Washington can all be used to produce unique and wonderfully complex wines on their own, or used together in complementary blends. Please call well in advance to reserve yours, because supplies will be limited. We will be offering the same varietals, at the same prices, as last year: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, each $48 per 36-lb lug. We’ll need a $10 deposit per lug ($500 per half-ton bin) at the time of your order. Expect these grapes to arrive a few weeks later than the Central Valley California grapes.

MENDOCINO COUNTY GRAPES from BRUTOCAO VINEYARDS
Brutocao Vineyards continues to produce some of the best grapes available to the home winemaker. In the past we’ve gotten Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel grapes from them. We expect to send a follow-up email sometime in the next couple of weeks with pricing and availability for 2009.

CENTRAL VALLEY GRAPES & JUICE
Of course we’ll have our usual superior selection of fresh grapes and juice from Central Valley, CA, and hopefully a few surprises as well (premium juices?). Look for updates in future emails and our Fall Newsletter, or in the meantime check out the varieties we offered in 2008. We always order extra Central Valley grapes and juice, but you can ensure you get what you want by ordering in advance (no deposit required).

BREHM VINEYARDS
Every year, we offer a wide variety of superb frozen red grapes (crushed) and white juice from Brehm Vineyards (www.brehmvineyards.com), 2009 varietals and prices yet to be announced. These are topnotch offerings from the most highly prized winemaking regions in California. We’ll need a $50 deposit per bucket at the time of your order. Keep an eye out for upcoming emails with more details.
