2009 JUICE CLEARANCE EXTRAVAGANZA
This year we’re promoting a “juice-only” extravaganza, since we’re already sold out of Central Valley grapes. In fact, thanks to very high demand, we’re sold out of red juice, too! We do have a nice selection of white juices available, but we don’t expect them to last much longer. As you’ll see below, we’re offering volume discounts on all of our remaining grape juice, plus a great deal on carboys. At these prices, you can make wine for less than $2 per bottle! If you’re new to the hobby, we will provide you with all the equipment and instruction you need to get started . just stop by our Montgomeryville store.

5-gallon carboys only $25 (regularly $31.95) when you buy a bucket of juice (limit one carboy per bucket) 10% off 3 or more buckets 15% off 8 or more buckets 20% off 10 or more buckets 25% off 15 or more buckets

Call our Montgomeryville store for a list of varieties that are currently available.

BONUS!
The percentage discounts listed above apply to EVERYTHING purchased at regular price with the order (if we have it in stock you can buy it at the same discount as your juice). Think BIG: like a press, a crusher/destemmer, a wine kegging system or a variable capacity tank. This offer is not valid with previous purchases or other coupons/offers.

BOURBON BARREL RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT
Montgomeryville recipe now online
Join us in Montgomeryville for our annual fall .big brew. on Sunday, October 25. We will be brewing a Russian Imperial Stout: the ultimate rich, dark, bittersweet, roasty, high octane beer. It’s the perfect brew to take full advantage of our traditional fermenters of choice for this event, bourbon barrels! Check out the recipe:

http://www.keystonehomebrew.com/index.cfm?pgid=bigbrew10recipe

Everyone brings their own brewing equipment (including propane burners) follows the same recipe, and then combines their wort into bourbon barrels for a one-month primary fermentation. There will be a barrel participation fee of $2.00 per gallon. Be sure to send us an email with your batch size if you’d like to reserve space in a barrel (remember: expect to lose about 10% during the primary fermentation). If you are interested in learning about outdoor brewing, all-grain brewing, or want to see some crazy homebrew setups, this is a great opportunity to check out a variety of methods at once. We will have a propane grill available for cooking, and Keystone will provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Everyone is encouraged to bring some homebrew to sample while brewing or viewing.

FROZEN BERRIES: LAST CHANCE
This Tuesday, October 20 is the deadline to order delicious frozen red raspberries, blackberries, and elderberries from Elwer Farms. These are great for wines, beers, meads, ciders, and all sorts of culinary creations, so don’t miss out. Available by pre-order only:

LIMITED EDITION AND RESTRICTED QUANTITY WINE KITS
Every year both Winexpert and RJ Spagnols offer a variety of high quality wine kits that are available for a limited release. These are consistently some of the most popular wine kits we sell. RJ Spagnols is offering a great lineup of new specialty wines from Germany, Argentina, Portugal and South Africa, while Winexpert is bringing back the .greatest hits. from the 20-year history of its Limited Edition program. The only way to be sure you get the kits you want is to pre-order, and we offer attractive discounts to anyone who pre-orders multiple kits:

Order 2 Kits: Save $3 on Each
Order 3 Kits: Save $5 on Each
Order 4 Kits: Save $8 on Each
Order 5 or More: Save $10 on Each!

The deadlines to pre-order vary by kit, with the first deadline being Sunday, November 29. If you miss any of the deadlines, you may still be able to order, since we get a few extras, but the discounts will not apply. Call us or order online:

PREMIUM GRAPES UPDATE
We’ve received all of our premium grapes from Washington State and Lake County by now, and we still have some extras of several varieties (call for details). Brutocao Vineyards has also picked the remainder of their grapes. The Zinfandel is already en route, with the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot soon to follow. We are virtually sold out of most of the Brutocao grapes, so call ASAP if you’re interested.

FIRST CIDER ARRIVES, SECOND DEADLINE APPROACHES
Our first two cider offerings, the pear blend and the Cortland/Macintosh blend, have arrived at both of our stores. If you’ve pre-ordered one of these blends, come in to pick it up. Otherwise, we do have a limited supply of extra cider, but hurry! If you’re a beginner, we have instructions and all the ingredients and equipment you’ll need. There’s still time to pre-order upcoming blends; the next deadline is Wednesday, October 21:
