Hallertau Mittelfruh is the traditional hop of the German Hallertau area, selected over generations as the aroma hop of the “middle/early” harvest period. specific aroma descriptors include mild, yet spicy, with floral and citrus tones. Although it can be and is used throughout the boil, it is most prized for its fine, elegant aroma and flavor contribution. Suitable for all mild flavored beers, particularly German-style Pils and Helles beers. Rarely used as an essential oil addition; occasionally used for dry hopping and as an essential oil.
